Verywellhealth.com recently named DNA  ConneXions the 2021 Most Accurate At-Home Lyme Disease Test, so we thought we’d take the opportunity to introduce DNA ConneXions and what we do!

DNA ConneXions is a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory with a CLIA license encompassing the following specialties: Bacteriology, Mycology, and Virology. In addition to our Lyme Disease Test Panel, we offer a Gluten Sensitivity Test Panel, a Comprehensive Oral Test Panel, a Propensity Test Panel, and Apolipoprotein E Genotype (ApoE) Test Panel.

The DNA ConneXions Lyme Test Panel tests for four different genes that are found in Borrelia burgdorferi, the most common cause of Lyme disease in the United States, and ten common Lyme disease co-infectors including Borrelia recurrentis, Borrelia miyamotoi, Babesia microti, Babesia divergens, Babesia duncani, Bartonella bacilliformis, Bartonella henselae, Bartonella quintana, Ehrlichia chaffeensis, and Anaplasma phagocytophilum. Positive detection of Lyme co-infectors indicates likely infection with the Lyme spirochete as well. This test panel requires a urine sample.

The DNA ConneXions Gluten Sensitivity Test Panel determines the presence or absence of genetic markers. The presence of any of these specific genetic markers are 95% predictive for gluten intolerance/sensitivity. The presence of all four markers is 95% predictive for Celiac Disease. Our gluten sensitivity test panel can help you discover health problems and take steps to improve your diet. This test utilizes the DNA ConneXions Super Floss sampling method.

The DNA ConneXions Comprehensive Oral Test Panel identifies bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites in removed teeth, blood, tissue, dental implants, bone grafts or other biological samples. It identifies the presence of 88 different pathogens, including tetanus, botulism, diphtheria, HPV 16 and HPV 18, Candida albicans and more. Use of Polymerase Chain Reaction test (PCR), one of the most advanced tools in molecular biology today, yields a specificity one in a trillion or greater, and a sensitivity that has the ability to detect the DNA of between 1 and 10 microbes, if present.

The DNA ConneXions Propensity Test Panel utilizes the molecular technique of PCR to identify the presence of opportunistic and pathogenic microbial DNA in oral samples. Periodontal diseases are silent and chronic inflammatory infections of the oral cavity. These infections can be symptomatic or asymptomatic and can affect the structures around the teeth, including the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone structures. These bacterial species work synergistically to destroy periodontal tissue, and these microbes may ultimately spread to a systemic level, which can contribute to non-oral diseases throughout the body. The DNA ConneXions Propensity Test Panel identifies 19 bacterial species not only involved in periodontal diseases, but also those microbes which have been implicated in the progression of chronic, systemic conditions.

The DNA ConneXions Apolipoprotein E  (ApoE) Test Panel can provide insight into your genetics and help you take steps to improve your health. The ApoE protein is composed of 299 amino acids and transports lipoproteins, fat-soluble vitamins, and cholesterol into the lymph system and then into the blood. The ApoE protein has been implicated in several neurological conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Every person has two copies of the ApoE gene and there are six possible variants. Some of these variants have been linked to the breakdown of cholesterol and heavy metals like mercury, barium, aluminum, lead, and copper. This test utilizes the DNA ConneXions Super Floss sampling method.

All of our test panels are available to both individuals and practitioners.  After your sample is returned to our lab for analysis, we will provide you with a report which we recommend you share with a qualified medical practitioner; together you will determine the best course of care based on your individual needs. While we do not provide a diagnosis or treatment recommendations, we are always available to answer any questions you may have regarding the test panels.

We welcome you to explore DNAConneXions.com in order to learn more about our tests panels and the science behind them, frequently asked questions, how to purchase the test panel, and so much more. Our staff is available to answer your questions by phone, (888) 843-5832, or you may submit your inquiry using the form on our Contact page

Our DNA ConneXions Lab and Staff look forward to helping you! Give us a call, 1.888.843.5832, or visit the DNA ConneXions website for more information!
